Getting creative with LEGO® bricks: Halloween

It should come as no surprise that our members are creative and skilled with LEGO® bricks. They demonstrate this several times a year at our own Bricktopia events, among other occasions. In addition, we see beautiful creations popping up throughout the year in our Dutchbricks WhatsApp community. So it's high time we started showcasing them more often on our website.

A few weeks ago, we asked our members to share photos of their favourite LEGO® Halloween sets, MOCs and displays with us. The photos submitted for this theme have already been used in our member newsletter.

Below you can see some of the exciting and interesting Halloween creations that are definitely worth taking a closer look at:

Dutchbricks member Suzanne Schrieder also provided a brief explanation of her entry: I love LEGO® and LEGO® animals. It's amazing how LEGO® brings imagination to life in its sets: boats shaped like sharks, fish, dragons and ravens.

Some sets in the LEGO® DREAMZzz™  series have the added bonus of offering two options for completing the set. You build the base and then choose how you want to finish the set. I don't build MOCs myself, but I'm discovering that I enjoy customising the sets each time.

For the shark boat (top left in the image above), I opted for wheels as well as rockets on the side, modified the tail fin, and changed the sails.

For the raven, I combined it with the legs of the house so that the raven can stand on its own legs. Since I have no experience in building MOCs, the advantage for me is that I can use the building instructions and adjust them until I am satisfied with the look of the set. That was a new experience and a lot of fun. On to the next set!
